I found gromets/bushings for the shit arms at the colum, but I can't find them for where they meet the tranny shift levers. It's really sloppy at the bottom. Any ideas? Thanks Mike
Linkage Play They're out there but the originals were always fairly soft rubber . I like to use plastic / PVC pipe cut into short tubes , and thin flat washers , just enough so the rods are not floppy where they fit into the tranny arms . Truck up in the air , well blocked , tranny in neutral , prop the shift lever @ 3:00 and adjust the shift rods length so the pins fit dead center into the tranny arms , no moving needed to line 'em up ~ then you'll have very good shifting in spite of the usual worn pins inside the shift box on the base of the steering column . it's always good practice to remove this and clean it out 100 % of the old rock hard grease before re - packing it with grease and re - assembling .
You're Welcome Just take it easy & slow ,these are pretty simple trucks and much has already been written about this typ or repair .
