Hi, 1955; 2nd series truck; stock 3spd with overdrive,[Chevy Munzie 319 Transmission]Does anyone make a conversion shifter kit for this,[from column to floor]? All I'm finding are the shifter conversion kits for just the 3 speeds. Any of you folks been able to do that? Thank you for any information, Enrique
The over drive lever is completely separate from the gears proper so you're not supposed to have a combination three speed & over drive floor shifter . What we did was to run the over drive cable up the side of the floor shifter handle and put a ' T ' knob on it so you can easily shift into over drive once it's in third gear..... Using a ' t ' bracket on the shift lever below the shift knob , allows you to have the over drive switch on the other side of the shift knob .
