    Shims crown & pinion !

This is old school work. There has to be an excact clearance at both sides to let both the crown & pinion work together with the spider gears. They normally use blue lackmoose paper on the gears to get a good measure. You could make a phonecall to Patricks and ask him over the phone as the manual he has about this swap is not of a good quality.

This manual is on the subject ;http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1948_51truck/51ctsm0409.htm

In case you dont sucseed you could ask a local mechanic to assist as this has to be very presizely done.

    Good luck Martinius.
