SM 420 problem

First drive yesteday for my '59 apache since november 2011, with my old transmission rebuild (thank a lot Mr keisler).
After fews kilometers ,the third speed jump with gear noise!
Is that some one has already had this problem?

Tranny Woes

?? It was fine and then began to make noise and pop out of gear ? .

Did you remember to fill it fully with 85W ~ gear oil ? .

Does it pop out and make noise under acceleration or on coast ? .

What typ of noise , whining , growling or chattering , crashing ? .

Did you remember to put a 1/2" NPT magnetic drain plug in it ? .

I'd right away drain the oil into a Hospital Clean pan then strain it through some clean white cloth to see what's in there .

Does it still shift O.K. ? .

NOVAK sells SM420 parts and service books , you can overhaul it easily in your driveway , no special tools necessary .

Yes the shifter pop up in acceleration with a crashing noise. maybe the gear oil is not the rigt one, but there's only the third ,who pop up.
i will change the gear oil.
