After searching, I dont think this has been asked. 1954 chevy truck 235 engine. Each time I run the truck, after about 5 minutes , smoke is coming out of the valve cover. Its a light amount of smoke. Any suggestions?

Sounds like engine blow by, might need some rings. Put a vacuum gauge on the engine and see where it's at, you should have 17-21 inches of vacuum. Then do a compression check....Big Tim

Also check out the crankcase breather tube. It may be clogged. Nate had an interesting method of cleaning it out on your bbq grill lmao

In an older engine , this may well be normal .

Do a FULL tune up beginning with valve adjustment and go from there , remembering the HOT OIL CHANGE as many don't think this necessary because of how few miles the oldie is driven .
