I have 53 3100 with 216 engine.. been having carberator issues.
I have it running now but not sure about it. seems to idle a little funny in my opionion or maybe I am just to picky, without having another vehicle with stovebolt to listen too.. maybe it just the way they are?

Idles fine, but exhaust disharge sounds erradtic ie not a smooth constant sound.... kinda sounds like it loads up then blows out. do they all do that?

Rebuilt rochector b, fresh adjust on valves, freshly timed, new points, rotor cap, plugs. new exhaust..

Was your valve adjust done with the engine HOT? Must be done HOT, HOT, HOT! Take it for a nice long drive and then do another valve adjust. Could just be the nasty old Rochester. I listened to all the old posts and put a Carter YF on my 235. Runs and sounds just like an old Singer sewing machine. LOL:D
