snaps around rear window

Greetings,
just noticed a set of snaps interspaced around the back cab window of my '65 C-10. The snaps are inside the cab, looks like maybe a cover attached to them to go over the window. I was wondering if that had to do with some factory option I was unaware of. Any ideas?

My 65 Chevy has the same thing. My Dad had a camper on the truck and he removed the back window then the boot snaped in the cab and the camper so you could have some access between.

Thanks Dean,
I have been told that this truck may have been used for carrying a camper. It has a heavy duty (orighinal) leaf spring suspension in the rear that was requested by the original owner, so this owner may have had a camper on the back with a boot too.
