Anyone know of a source for new or used door hinges? Found my 52 has a cracked upper driver door hinge. Now I'm kicking myself for getting rid of the parts truck! Seriously tho, a junkyard or a parts supplier would help.

    Thanks!

Andy, several vendors sell kits to refurbish hinges, but I'm not aware of anyone who sells repos hinges. Let this be a lesson to you, NEVER get rid of anything until you get your project done!;)

I knew as soon as it was loaded up on the flatbed that I'd need something off of it. I'm just glad it was only a small part, as I already took anything that was good off the rest of the truck. Who knows when I might need a side-mount spare for the truck...or maybe sell it later on AFTER my other truck is complete.

Andy, I'll look at my spare doors tomorrow and see if any has the hinges. Usually pull the doors by removing bolts from strap on door because the bracket is harder to wiggle out of the pocket in the door pillar pocket but maybe there is some with the whole works still there.

    Thanks guys!

I did find one hinge through Hemmings. But $100 + shipping seems a little steep for a worn out hinge. So I'd like to see some other prices before buying.

coilover, I think the mounting flange to the cab is what broke off. The body man said he could weld it back up, but the hinge is so rusty that it would likely happen again. Let me know if you have a spare hinge. If you can part with it I'd rather deal with someone from here rather than over the phone. Who knows what I'll end up with ;).

    Thanks!

Go to stovebolt page under swap meet section and parts for sale section. Look up a guy who calls himself jimbo59chevy. Usually lists as "parting out trucks in Texas". He will have the parts you are looking for at a reasonable price. He lists his cell number so call him up. Ah, the heck with it. I went to the page and got his number for you. Reach him at 817-648-3249. You will not be disappointed. I have purchased parts from him before and he stands by his stuff. I was dissatisfied with a part and he sent me THREE more to make sure I had a usable part.

    Door Hinges

Last thing I knew , Jim Karter sold rebuilt ones , not cheap but really nice , re-bushed and so on .

Maybe Chevs Of The40's in Wa. State ? .

If you're on a super tight budget you can often shim / adjust a floppy , worn out hinge untill the door is more or less in position but it'll almost certainly chew up latches and striker plates so I'd go for a cherry used (if such exists these days) or a rebuilt one .
