    You can make one.......

There's a good tech article at the Stovebolt Tech tips page that will take you through the steps to make your own. I made up all the templates, but decided to replace my rear fender with a new one. I'm going to try this on the old fender one of these days just to see how it goes. If I ever do another truck, I'll use it then if it turns out OK. The web address is

    www.stovebolt.com/techtips/sparetire/sparetire.htm

Good luck if you try it.....post pictures!

    Fender Conversion

If you're any good at body work (a surprising amout of DIY'ers are) , this is do - able and you'll be pleased with the results .

Even if you make a poor job if it , the tire covers any boo - boos .

Thanks for the link. I am not good at welding or fine painting but my fender has a 5" scratch on it and needs painting. The bodyman can fix it and I wont have to buy a new fender! This old truck really brings back my childhood and gives me and my teenage son something to do. If the tire is out where it can be seen it wont be flat or dirty when needed.
