Will the newer solanoid starters fit a "59" 235 engine with the foot starter? If so, which ones? thanks..andy
I would have to say "no" they won't work with the foot starter! you should be able to replace or rebuild your old starter! Good luck! Allen
I don't think you can put a solenoid on a stomp starter, but I do think you can bolt a starter with a solenoid already mounted to your bellhousing. I'd guess any of the 12 volt 235inch Chevy six cylinder starters from the late 50s cars. Make sure the bendix on the new one has the same number of teeth as the original.
