    Hello Forum,
I put what I thought was a 76 steering box on my 65 Chevy 4x4I am now trying to figure out which one I have. I am reading that in 76 Chevy went to all metric. Nothing I noticed is metric on mine. The numbers i found on the box are a cast one that reads 7802644 below that and to the right is 260. There is a big 4 and a large S on bottom. The nose or front of it has 5686815 stamped on it. Also this unit does not use a 0 ring seal it has the flared type end on the high pressure side.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike T

    Found one

Mine has a 13/16 input shaft (0.80 in)with flared hose fittings.
That was the most important thing I needed too know.
    Unit is on the way.
Maybe this post can help someone else in the future.
