my ruck was broken into and stolen a few years back. The steering column was smashe open to steal th truck. I have never taken apart a column before, anyone have any tips on repairing as far as dificulty. I would rather fix it myself than have it repaired. Any help would be appreciated!

1st tip: Get the right tools, a steering wheel puller and a lock plate puller. It basically requires 2 people to get the snapring for the lock plate out without it. Its not too exspensive, and well worth the money.

I'd also suggest giving yourself an afternoon at least to take it apart and put it back together. If you take the time to remember how you took everything apart it will help you when you need to put it back together.
