Should be a very simple swap. For years the 67-72 tilt columns have been the column of choice for street rodders, especialy the van column. Flaming River and Ididit high dollar columns are based on the 67-72. The small tube diameter will fit almost anywhere.

You will have to modify the wiring harness. It will also have hazards which a 66 does not.

The column harness is an easy fix. Get yourself a harness connector from Ididit, Flaming River, etc and match color-for-color the steering column wiring to the truck cab wiring. There may be a "few" differences but 90% are the same. ( a wiring diagram is VERY helpful here)
As for the 4-way flasher button on the column. Take the lead from the column, grey if I remember, connect it one side of a seperate directional relay, like the one already in the truck, and the other side of the relay goes to a 12 volt source. Instant 4-ways on a truck that didn't come with them.
