I bought a 75 silverado automatic, and want to change the steering wheel out for a nice custom walnut job. The instructions say to loosen the main bolt, and three retaining screws on the colar face. I still can't get the stock wheel off. It almost looks spot welds on the retaining ring any suggestions would help. Thanks...
There shouldnt be any welds on the steering wheel. There should be 2 bolt holes behind the thin metal plate you need to get to, so if thats whats welded I suggest you try and bend it out of the way or something (make sure the battery is disconnected). You can attach a steering wheel puller to the bolt holes to take the wheel off. Hope this helps, Craig
