Hopefully, this will be an easy question for you truck guru’s….Could you tell me what other years of Chevy steering wheels (cars or trucks) will fit on my original steering column in my 54 Chevy 3100? Considering something different just to dress the truck up a bit but still have something approximately age appropriate.

The main concerns are the centers matching and the steering hub not being to tall for the column bolt. The truck does not currently have factory blinkers (if that matters) although I am on the look out for those parts also.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Happy New Year to all of you.

I have a 55 chevy car wheel on mine, bolts right up, though the column needs shortening as the wheel has much more dish than stock.

I have exactly the same question. Is the chevy car column the same as a truck for the year 47-54?

    No .

Lucky for you , the splines remain the same from 1949 through the late 1960's , prolly more years than that , those are the swaps we did when I was young .
