In working on the seats for my 53 truck, I have found that I don't have enough leg room with the bench seat.
I found some mustang II bucket seats, and made a bracket to sit on the floor and will bolt (with BIG washers)to the floor.
By taking the old seat support out the cab, floor has too much flex.
I know I need to stiffen the cab floor. Any ideas on the best/easy/safest way???

When we cut out the seat riser we make up several flanged channels out of 16g or 14g on the metal brake. Usually about a 1" flange on each side so when held open side up on the underside of the floor pan holes can be drilled through the pan and in line with the flanges. These are then be spot welded from the floor to the flanges. I like a "K" brace where the cross brace is where the front of the factory riser was and each leg runs diagonally to the rear cab brace. Self drilling screws and a little hammer massage will draw the braces tight to the floor which gives good spot welds.

    Thanks.
That is what I was thinking. Do you make two braces or just one.

If of the "K" design usually just one but it sounds like your a big man so two may be the way to go.
