Does any one have info on the correct fittings for the tubing. It appears that the stock oil guage requires a ferrel with a male -screw in fitting as oppossed to a cap -screw on fitting. On all the new fitting I have seen, the male ferrel tip is in the fitting and the female tip is out . I got a tubing kit at the swap and it has two ferrel tips soldered on the copper tubing with caps on behind. Our host shows their's with the scewing type fittings with the ferrels on tip. They don't look like they are the detachable kind of ferrel. They might be. The heating supply co. had 1/8" tubing fittings but the threats are fine and the stock guage appears couse. Thanks for any help. Tom
I believe that fitting is called a double compression. I just noticed Classic Parts is offering the line and fittings. Must have been added to the line up in the past year. http://www.classicparts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=24-781 Darek
I have bought these to but how can you get them snug fit as mine doesn't have the little barrel shape ends that are solderd on the original line. can I just screw them in and will they shape as you go?
oil sending unit Just got my lines installed and a tee at the bottom for my oil filter canister. I used the Male style attached ferrule fitting in my Classic tubing kit but I used a 1/8" npt to threaded ON (loose type) ferrule and nut fitting at the bottom into the tee. Did not leak but the cap gasket on the oil filter canister sure did. Cleaning tomorrow.
