The wire that attaches to my stop/idle selenoid, which is located on a bracket attached to the carburetor on my '79 Chevy C10 pickup (250L6 engine) is energized as soon as I turn on the ignition. As I understand it, the solenoid should energize when I shift from park to drive and should not be energized in neutral.
Is that action controlled by the neutral safety switch or is it controlled somewhere else?
