Suspension upgrades

So far I have searched and found that the 72-1980 C-10 is a good donor.


Is this this a good donor for 60 with torsion bars? It seems that the 60-62 "s were ahead of their time with a juice clutch and torsion bar suspension. I went to install new wheel bearings and was quite shocked at the value of steel ball bearings verse Timken bearings.
Any help here?

There are many threads on the various 60-66 trucks sites about front end upgrades. I believe if you just want to get rid of the ball bearings, you can swap in 63-66 spindles which use tapered roller bearings.
