I want to take my 79 chevy 1/2 ton and convert to a 1 ton Dually. I need to know the best way to accomplish this. And cheapest,of course the easiest way to get this done. I would appreciate any feedback on this.

personnally i wouldn't trust the 1/2 ton frame if you will be using it as a one ton truck. if you just want the dual rear wheels and a beefed up suspension i'd think that's ok, but i would use it like a 3/4 ton.
if i were building a one ton, i'd prefer to start with a bare K30 frame with a quad cab so i could build it with new parts and not have to worry about taking it apart every time i need to upgrade/repair/install something, just build it right the first time.

i know this is a chevy site but my father has a 79 ford F-150 1/2 ton and converted it over to a 3/4 to haul cattle w/ a 20 ft. goose neck trailer. w/o a lick of problems.
i agree w/ nerf hurder. dont trust the 1/2 frame
