Tail gate lock?

I have an 85 3/4 ton Chevy. I would like to install a tail gate tool box, but I have reservations in regards to someone stealing my tail gate. Does anyone know if and how I can lock the gate to the truck. It does not have a factory lock. Thanx Kenny
