[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jan-31-04 AT 10:28 PM (CST)]Hey everybody, I thought I'd give an update on the state of my project since it's been forever since I've done it. I really haven't done anything to it in a while but drive it so I figured it's high time I start back up on it. I hope to pull off all of the front end sheetmetal tommorrow and get the motor out so that I can re-cam it and put some better heads on it. While I have everything off, I'm really going to try and airbag the front end and get the fenders fixed since it looks like they were painted by a Maaco trainee who was consequently fired ( no offense meant to Maaco ). I'm also trying to find a fleetside bed for it, and if I do I'll definitely air bag the truck when only the cab in on the frame. I have a busy few months ahead of me which start tommorrow so I'd better get some ZZZZZzzz zz z . . .

    Update

Well hope everything goes well. I need to get a better set of head for my 283. i have a set of what i believe are power pack heads tht i want to redoe and put 2.02intakes and 1.60 exhaust on and slightly port the intake and port and polish the exhaust side. Then i want a 5 speed to put behind it. I have thought about the air bag suspension for my 61 but only in the rear as i have torsion bar front. i have a Chance to get some bucket seats that are from a 67-68 chevy truck. that i would like to put in. I'm starting body work on my 61 soon and maybe i'll get it painted this spring. I know i said that last spring.
    And i have a new project its a 1969 chevy K10 flatbed.

    RE: Update

Well, I spent all day dismantling my truck and boy am I dirty! I didn't quite finish everything, but I got real close. Everything is off; engine is still in, not hooked to anything('cept the trans), but still there. It'll come out tommorrow afternoon and then the work can begin! Cowboy, The set of heads I'm lookng at should be pretty similar to yours, I think they're originally from a 283 but I'll be putting them on my 350. If you still aren't sure if 2.02/1.60 valves will fit a 283 block I'll let you know for sure when I ask the machine shop(the guy knows his stuff). Good luck with the new project!

Well let me know what he says. I'm pretty sure that 2.02 and 1.60 valves will fit. Good luck with the project.
