They also have the manifold for the G's at the same price. If I was just starting out today and knew what I do today I would go for it. I'd also be intouch with the Inliner Folks for their racing expertise.
Cool, and definitely different, but, I wonder how long the old engine would hold up. Seems kinda pricey for a manifold, with a lot of finish work to be done. You would definitely have to put a electric windshield wiper kit on.
Function manifold Hey guys Anyone can tell me what function this manifold/blower have ? Does it increase vacume or does it cool fumes better Down ? Will it increase engine performance ? Martinius.
Supercharger/compressor Russ thanks for the answer. How much engine power increasment will you get out of this model when installing it on a 235 or 261 cyl. engine ? Do you need to Upgrade the engine aswell with a high performance racing cam , valves and pistons to get the wanted torgue/hp out of it ? Martinius.
Thoughts... If you are doing this 'cause you're into nostalgia, and you have a lot of money to throw down, keep the I6 and have at it. If you are doing this because you want more HP, do an engine swap and drop in a V8. There simply isn't a more economical way to produce more HP on a budget than a small block Chevrolet. Either way it's all good.
Puffers This is way over priced considering you need to finish machine it . Also , Chevy InLine engines are well known for blowing rods when Hot Rodded , few understand that whenever you add a puffer you MUST lower the compression ratio or it'll beat the engine to death in very short order . Instead of a (yawn) V-ate , stuff in a beautiful GMC L-O-N-G Motor and have plenty of power ! .
Volumetric Efficiency... What Nate said... gotta make alot of room to FORCE that air/fuel mixture into. However, Nate, the phrase plenty of power differs with each one of us. Here is a demonstration of my idea of power, also plenty of stupidity. http://youtu.be/6xBmLRN4F0Q This is why you NEVER leave your keys in your truck at work.
If that is stupidity, then this is just plain dumb. Cool rides though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djiCvLVEfag
entertaining, but... I love hoonage as much as the next guy, and have on occasion, sent Goodyears to tire-heaven. BUT, it was on the way to the tire shop (and admittedly 20 years ago). The smell of rubber brings back VERY fond memories of my youth. "How much power is needed" is as subjective as it gets, to each his own I guess. While a forced-induction I6 would be VERY cool, its just not MY thing.
Well, then, you just need wider tires. http://youtu.be/LZkHlR2ywDo http://youtu.be/Sfy5mqY19Xs And I just found the tires/wheels I want. Sorry, John, they are kinda no sidewall, rubber band tires. Probably speed rated to about 130.
