I have a '76 c20 2wd with a 454 and a 400 auto tranny. I'm thinking about swapping in a 700 auto so I can have the overdrive. Has anyone here done this before? I'm trying to figure out what might be needed to do this, like do I need to move the cross member, will I need to change the flexplate, do I need a different kickdown switch, do I have to change the driveshaft, and how do I hook it up to work with the stock column shifter. Stuff like that. If anyone has info or bits of wisdom, I'd appreciate it.
