Well, fellows, after approx. 1 year and 8 months the Boops ride is finished. We got her inspected today, made final adjustments and buffed the clear coat that the cuz let run.

It's been great fun and the HUGE :D on the Boops face says it all. Got to get full coverage insurance before the Boop actually drives it very far. Waiting on the appraiser to call me back. Here are a few of the final shots.

Sorry I havent been on here much lately, I've been working from 7am to midnight for about a week. Trying to make extra money to help my daughter and husband with grandbaby expense:D . Maybe I'll have a little more time for a few days.

Next project is the 1963 F**D Falcon Futura for the wife and myself. It will be our primary vehicle when finished.

It is always good to get to the part where you bless it and let it roll.
Take it easy for a while, Boopster. Get use to the feel of this sweet ride.
And watch out for all those boys that will be laying down in the road in front of you!
    Congrats!

Congrads :D I am so glad you got her done finally. Look's Great. I know was a hard road to get there at times but the end results are well worth the road traveled. Has been quite the group effort here on the forum. Just seem's like yesterday we were calling you all kinds of names something to do with a wiper motor. Please keep in touch Let us know how the truck makes out after a few miles are put on her.

    I'll still be here

Hey, fellows... I've made great friends here, where else could I go. besides as Ken says, I've got more of these waiting for a little TLC. Got to break for a short time from the chevys and get the wifes falcon going. Hopefully only a few months, I'm not going into the detail. I just want it fairly nice and reliable. Got to get back to my first love in vehicles... THE 3100:D

Checking the forum daily is almost like being on some kind of drug, got to have my regular fix:eek:

Thanks for all the postive comments, of course I can see every flaw but it ain't bad from 40 feet.

    She's a beauty

TB'S Dad..you have done a fantastic job on the truck, and in turn, yourself, the Boopster and your family. I think it all sorta flows together. Your new project will be a worthy one too, and done, no doubt, with the same attention to detail as this one, cause that's who you are!! We are all proud of you and your dedication. ;)
    go easy,

    A little set back

We have had a little set back but our problem is easier than 47 Rods.

We charged the A/C on Thursday and while watching to see if everything was OK I noticed a drip at the carb. Got to checking it out and found it was a VERY fast drip. It was coming out behind the electric choke area. Then came the problem of finding out what model of carb it was. After removing it I was able to locate a number stamped on the lower rear body. I was then advised that the carb was not manufactured after 1967. It was used as a dual set up on performance motors by GM and Chrysler. It is a 500 CFM Carter AFB. Actually a pretty cool carb.

Anyway I was able to get a kit and am going to rebuild today.

Everything else seems to be working as planed. I told the Boop that I hope to have it where she can drive it by the time she has a 17 year old:eek:

Of course she said in her sweet way, "Daddy, It's Ok". Yep that's my Boop.

I havent rebuild very many carbs, but this is cheeper than a new one or even a rebuilt one for that matter. I did find this carb rebuilt on the net, these people want 450 to 500 dollars for these things.

    Snowing In April

You are all going to think I am lying...

BUT i'm gonna tell you anyway... IT HAS BEEN SNOWING HERE FOR OVER AN HOUR,,, SERIOUS BUSINESS:D

One of my friends here in Gallatin told me yesterday that it was supposed to snow, I told him he was crazy, but he was right. It's not just a simple misty snow, it is snowing hard with BIG flakes...

Anyway, got the carb kit installed, she purrrrrrs like a kitten, well, a loud kitten, She's got thrustmasters, so it sounds like a BIG ANGRY KITTEN:D

Now, unless something else comes up, she's goin Monday for an appraisal for insurance purposes, then on the road, Boop behind the wheel with a BIG :D

Congrats to you and boop. It's a great looking truck and I now you're very proud of it. It snowed here in Tn yesterday. Big flakes and coming down fast. It wasn't cold enough to stick thank goodness, but still kinda weird.

    Carter Afb & Snow

    Yep ;

that's a really good carby you have there , sorry I was OffLine and no advice but you seem to be on top of things anyway .

For the next time , look up and buy a " Grose Jet " float valve , they're way better than the original float valves and help smooth running and economy too , well worth the $6.00 or so price .

? SNOW ? what the heck is going on down there ?! . it's all coudy and damp here in La La Land too , the NWS says rain to-morrow , Easter Sunday

    Still snowing

It is now8:45 pm and still snowing, didn't stick but weather man saying snow into the night... huh, didn't snow here all winter and now snow on april 7th:eek:

Hey Nate, What is a grose jet? If it helps that much with economy I'll gladly pull the top back off and replace em. It was fairly easy to rebuild and adjust according to instructions in the box, It cranked right off, made a small adjustment to both screws on front and off she goes.

Again, thanks to all of you for the kind words, it's been a long haul so to speak but well worth it.

    " Grose Jet "

...Is SPECIALLY MADE FLOAT VALVE , INSTEAD OF A NEEDLE & SEAT , IT HAS TWO TINY BALLS IN IT - THIS ALLOWS FOR MORE PRECISE METERING OF THE INCOMING FUEL AND IS ESPECIALLY GOOD ON ENGINES THAT vibrate a lot or or rouch road operation....

OOps , sorry 'bout the caps there guys .
