    Hi Gang,

Anybody have a diagram of how and where the throttle linkage for a V8 bolts to the firewall? Haven't been able to locate one in any manuals I have available.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I can take a picture of mine later this week and post it if you would like. I have a 327 so I don't know if it is still hooked up in the original manner. My gas pedal is original so I imagine that not much has been changed.

    Talked to Adam

    Mike,

Adam the tech guy at Classic Parts sent me some pictures. I've attached them. I had to put a spacer on the bolt closest to the center of the truck to get the linkage to line up right and I had to get a different gas pedal. But once I did all that it worked great.

    cable throttles.....

are a very nice alternate, often with quicker / cleaner response and also help to clean up the look of the interior and engine well too.

Sorry about not posting pics. Honestyly I forgot. I have been extremely busy. It looks like someone else posted some. If you need more let me know and I will see if I can get the camera from my wife.

    Mike, Stan and Adam,
What kind of throttle set-up did you end up using? Does Classic Parts have it or the junk yard?

    Thanx,
    Mike

    Stan,
What year truck did you install this on?
Did you use the same gas pedal from that truck?
    Thanx,

Well after going to the junk yard for 3 hours and paying
20$ for what I thought would work just great! it wouldnt.
So I typed in chevy throttle linkage on e-bay and for 65$ shipped to my door is this floormount (just like original) pedal with cable called the "Eliminator" Lokar wannabe. My original pedal will work with this pedal and look stock.
Hope this helps out other folks that want to keep the original look but not knowing what to use.
    Good luck!

Mike, sorry I didn't get back to you in time. Anyway for future ref. I installed the linkage on my 59. I had to order a new pedal because mine was missing. Seems like I ordered the stock one, but can't remember for sure. Sorry not much help from me this time.

I like the idea of a cable throttle. Should be able to seal that up better than the stock engineering with the shaft coming through the firewall. I get a pretty cold draft coming in around my pedal and shaft in the winter, even with new felt firewall seal thingys.

    Thanx Stan!
I installed the cable pedal like above and installed my original pedal over it and it looks factory along with my brake pedal.

I needed one & went to the junkyard. Got one off a GMC, but it would not work so I had to buy one from the sponsor.

    With newer 4bbl

I bought the TL from the sponser as well, and after looking at several pics of stock setups, I have installed it on the Cameo, yet I am still having some binding issues. Is anyone running this setup on a sb chev with an Edelbrock? Pics?
