Had the truck out on Saturday. After restarting then driving just short distance I noticed the throttle pedal was stuck downwards towards the floor:eek: . Had to reach down and pull up to get free. First time that has ever happened. Then after driving some more pedal stuck again. Got her home checked it out could not find anything causing it ? Was wondering if anyone had that kind of deal in the past ? I checked the carb linkage & pedal itself all is free and could not get it to stick again.

yeah , this is common , look closely at the bellcrank up under the manifold , if it has any lateral play (wobble) , remove it and look at the pin for wear grooves and also the holes in the BellCrank proper , often this gets looesy-goosy and you'll need to weld it up and re-drill it or just tack a couple washers to the inside etc. if it's the later , sheet metal BellCrank .

If your cab is settling , this will cause the throttle rod to jam where it makes that gentle curve up to pass through the toe board .

Whatever you do , DO NOT simply add a stronger spring !

Oncw in a while it's just the pedal's hinge pin has come loose and backed part way out , be sure to clean it and use a new cotter pin , vacuum out all the built up rusty dirt and lubricate untill the pedal moves up and down freely , any bind here , no matter how slight , will cause sticking .

Got a look at her later yesterday-(Had a post Eagles game couch sitting deal going on for most of the day:p ) Looked at the bell crank the rod from the inside of the car out to the crank pivot only has 1 washer besides the cotter key and is loose. But with the amount of oil coming out of my intake runners is well lubed. Did find the cause was the ball at the end of the throttle rod had come out of the circle in the upper portion of the accelerator pedal. Held it with some vice grips then got it to click back into place. Drove her around the block seemed Ok. Thanks as always Nate for the help !!! I will address the other end issues when the engine comes apart in a few weeks.
