Haven't used my timing light since the early 1960's. Got it out of the box to check the timing on my '54 235, but the instructions for making the timing light connections was missing. The lead for the #1 plug is obvious, but what are the connection points for the red and black clamp leads. Thanks in advance for your help.

The battery posts will work or may-be the hot lead to the starter and a good ground.

Thanks Steve. I wasn't sure if the Red lead went to the battery or to the coil as on a dwell meter. Appreciate your help.
