I'm looking to change tires on my 66 c10. currently running 245/60/15s (they're just too small for the front wheelwells)- going to 235/75/15s. Question - how will these taller tires effect turning radius? Also, will the taller tire clear the inside edge of the rear wheelwells? I'm also looking to purchase a set of smoothie rims. What size works best? 15x5.5, 15x7, 15x8? Is there a rim size that can be used for both the 245/60s and the 235/75s in case I want to switch back? As usual I'm getting conflicting advice. Can anybody give me the scoop on this? Thanks.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON May-18-04 AT 06:25 PM (CST)]Tire size is not the issue here. It's wheel backspacing.
A tire of the same dimensions as the wheel well will permit won't fit if the wheel backspacing is wrong.

I have 235/75's on my 63 GMC Fenderside and they seem to work fine. I believe the wheels are stock 15". I would like a taller tire without increasing the width too much; I think those wheels look lost in those fenders too. But I don't want the silly-boy-look-what-my-daddy-bought-me monster truck look. Just a very old-fashioned vintage truck look. I guess I need to go to bigger rims.
