I hope it is okay to ask you in particular? I replaced the alternator. The new alt. has an internal regulator-the old one did not. I'm not sure how to connect the wiring. Can you help?

Hi Heather,
Our good friends and hosts here at ChevyDuty sell a harness that will solve the installation problem. It makes the whole deal a 15 minute job, including mounting the alternator.
Mount alternator, adjust belt, remove voltage regulator, install one end of harness to the alternator, the other end plugs into the old alt harness. Use the supplied cap to plug the former voltage regulator harness. DONE.
I've used this harness to convert a few vehicles and would not consider trying to wire it myself any more. The harness makes the install nice and tidy as well.
(1963-72) Alternator Conversion Kit
An External to Internal Regulator kit. Easy plug-in conversion that can be used with 1985 and earlier series alternators.
