Can anyone tell me how to remove the torsion bars from the lower control arms? I can't seem to figure this one out. I'm assuming they are not a press fit or permenently fixed, correct?

    Thanks,

    Robert

Well i think it will take a lot of grunting an wiggleing the torsin bar and might take some heat. i haven't taken the torsion bars of my truck but i have taken the hole crossmember out of another 60-61 frame.

I'm afraid to heat it as I might change the tempering and destroy the bar. I'v been using a steel bar in the access hole in the front of the lower control arm and hitting it with a small sledge with no luck. Before I went to a LARGER sledge, I wanted to make sure there are no retaining clips etc. that I'm missing. Do you now if there are any?

    Thanks,

    Robert

    Robert,

I would strongly suggest that you pick up a Factory Service Manual. It pay's for itself in the first few uses and makes you an expert instantly.
