tranny ratios

    what kind of ratios does a 1963 3speed tranny have. i have not looked to what type of tranny it is yet

    i would like to know what the gear ratios are for the tranny.

    My book shows the GM 3 speed (non synchro first gear) with 2.94 1st gear, 1.68 2nd gear, 1 to 1 3rd and 3.14 reverse.

    Thanks for your help. and now if anyone can tell me what the rpm redline is for a 283 that is out of a 63 truck.
