Hey there. I'm new to posting here, but I've been working on my old '63 Chevy short-fleet pickup for about five years now. (Being on a very limited budget makes it a slow process.) My question today is, how do I tell if my floor has the low tranny hump, or the high one? It originally had a manual transmission in it (judging by the crossmember below the bellhousing) but has a TH350 in there now. The steering column has provisions for a shifter, but I'm pretty sure it's not original to this truck. The floor pan has the bolt-in cover for the tranny, but no opening for an original floor shifter. Prior to my purchasing the truck, a B&M Star Shifter was installed, and a hole punched (rather crudely) in the floor to route the shift cable. I put some cheap Wally World carpet over the floor to hide the hole, but want to put a full carpet kit in soon, so I need to know which floor I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
