The 3 speed manual transmission in my 1954 Chevy 3100 is leaking transmission oil. The oil is coming out of both shifter shafts (through the sideplate cover). While the exploded view of the transmission in my shop manual doesn't show any O rings on the shafts, the assembly instructions for the shiftlever/sideplates does mention O rings. Are there supposed to be O ring seals on the shifter shafts?

    Thanks....Joe

    Thanks Nate!

I took it apart this AM. The O rings were "long gone". I found some O rings that fit and buttoned it back up. We will see how it works.
