Hi folks: I have a new (old) three-speed transmission for my 52 3100 Chevy and I wondered about new seals before I install the transmission. Does anyone know what I need to do and where to get the seals (or if there are seals that should be replaced)? I've found gasket kits, but not anything for seals. Thanks. Richard One more thing, how do I upload a photo of my truck to have it appear under my name? Thanks.
Tranny Seal There's an output seal , wipe it off and look closely , there will be a P/N in raised numbers on it , might have letters too . DO NOT remove the old seal until you have a matching new one in your hand ! To install , find a BIG socket or piece of pipe that fits smoothly against the edge of the new seal and use that with a BFH to knock the seal in , DO NOT try tapping the seal in by hitting it with hammer or mallet! this distorts the seal and gaurantees leaks .
