I have a 1975 K10 4X4 with a built 350 and a TH350 Trans. The trans is in great shape but there is a noise coming from there when it is at idle. I beleive that it is the flex plate. It seems like its loose and rattles when in idle and park. Im only 14 and my dad is as confused as I am and he has worked on chevys his whole life. I need to know what it is because this truck is going to take to school when I get my license. :7

It not my exhaust because as I look at the fly wheel I can see It move. But the exhaust does make a ticking noise so I know it not that it will be fixed soon.

    Hello.
I had a similar sound/experience with my 69 gmc... it was making noise and the flywheel would move, but it was firmly bolted to the torque converter.. it turns out that the flywheel had cracked completely around the bolts where the flywheel is mounted to the crankshaft. it was still turning because the clearance was so tight, but once I pulled the tranny back and unbolted the torque converter the the flywheel actually fell out.(without taking off the crankshaft bolts.)
You might have the similar thing happen.

    hope this helps.
    Eugene
