need help !!!! what I have is a 55 which had the motor changed from a 235 to a 265. but the 2nd & 3rd shifting shaft is upside down if you know what I mean , so my question is ,will another side cover fit this transmission ??? which I think is a SM318 . I know I can put one of those u-bolt clamp shift levers on but would like to make this right if I can... oh ,I am putting this on the tree, I found the right shift rods, because the 235 had the bell-crank hook-up. any help appreciated.....Thanks

    Side Loader Shift levers

If this is what you're talking about , I *think* you can remove the lever and re - attach it 180° out .

Going from old memory here .
