    Hey guys !

My old friend the mecanic Åge and me where taking apart the 4 speed tranny again to day after 11.00 o clock church time , pray the lord. We did not found anything fysically wrong with the gears , sliders and synchros and bearings as they also are new.

Åge had made a doctors stetoscopic tool for this purpose to find out where the noicy resonance comes frome when putting it in 2,3 and fourth gear. As it does not make any noice when it is in reverse grip and has to litle speed when in 1.st gear no noice is to hear there either.

We took the sidecover of the tranny and connected an electric drill to the mainshaft to let it spinn around at anough speed to check out each gears.

Soon we located the noice coming from the reverse gear wich might have different reasons , like main wear over time or maybe 2 gearparts put together from different trannys ? Attached a picture of the gears striped with a white marker.

What do you guys suggest me to do in this case? Martinius.:)

Tranny; The straight teeths marked with white paint in the left corner of the pict. are making the noice when the upper toothwheel is in freegear ?

Åges workshop. Picture attached of an 1927 chevy sedan and an Opel Olympia stationwagon from 1950. Cars bought new back in time in this district as they both have the beginning E letter in there plates.
