That's a slick looking job! It's gotta hurt to have to travel and leave it behind at this point.

Man I can't wait until mine is at this point. I love the firewall. I'm cutting mine out the next time I go home to work on my truck and going to put a smooth recessed wall in it. I've got a long ways before mine is at this point though. I'm still at the cut everything out and weld it back in stage. But I'm making progress. Congrats on the paint. I love the color.

Paint Job was done at Class n Kustom in Portland Oregon. He built a rotary for getting at all the finish bodywork done. We built a console to house the Shifter (yes an automatic vwnate) the e-brake, heater controls, and ignition. Yes it's killing me to be gone when this is sitting at home. Thanks for the comments.

    Whew , sure looks pretty ! .

FWIW , you should know to _never_ pay any mind to my comments ~ after all , I'm not paying for this truck so if you like it fully custom or racing , that's 100 % O.K. by me .

I'd _love_ to have a 6 cylinder Hydromatic (slushbox) equipped truck , one of the guys in my other old truck club is selling one now , I can only dream.....

Sorry it's not an original job. I received this project with no frame, motor, or transmission. I will have to find a site that likes all things rebuilt not what there idea of a perfect rebuild is. LATER:mad:

I know im being stupid but that spit roast your trucks on in the paint shop looks like the roof would smack into the tarmac if you swung it round, or is it an illusion of the photo?

    Nate,
Apparently Canby misunderstood one of the above comments. I have found that the written word often gets misconstrued due to the lack of facial expressions or good ol' slap on the back. Maybe he took your byline about Real trucks having 3 pedals personally. I am with you and your comment that the one paying the bills is the one who can do whatever he wants to his truck. I tend to take mine back fairly original but I can't help but wonder what it would look like with a 2 1/2" chopped top, a lowered front end and widened rear fenders with some duallys under it. With that 9 foot pickup bed the thing would be one heck of a lead sled.
I ain't got the money to match my dreams though.
I think his truck looks great. Hey Canby, if you are out there, More power to ya!

FYI, Neil corrected Nate awhile ago. Real trucks have 4 pedals. But i'm wondering. Could a rubber foot starter pad be considered a pedal also? I too hope that Canby is out there and will keep us updated on the progress of his truck. I'm dying to see the interior when it gets finished.

I dont understand why canby52 got so upset, I've read trough this post a dozen times and all I see is good comments. I personaly like original trucks, BUT you have to appreciate that kind off workmanship. That is a really nice truck.

What's the deal. I'm a street rodder and haven't denied it from the first post I put on here. You guys have been nothing but supportive. Hey Canby if you're out there, you're not the only street rodder on here, I've seen a few. Me and Evan (Coilover) both put S-10 frames under ours. That sure as hell isn't original. Plus I'd love to see more of what you're going to do with the interior.

OK, OK I admit it! I'm a closet street rodder. I've got a '34 Ford PU that ain't quite original. Under it's hood, dare i say this in front of Nate, it's got a corvette V8. I feel better now having confessed my sins!

Whatever you've gotta do to keep the old tin out of a junkyard is O.K. with me .

I just hate seeing so many good used trucks being bought up by folks who then take it all apart and then say " oh crap this looks like WORK " and scrap it .

So lesse , counting the parking brake on 3100 series and the pedal starter , I guess that means real trucks have FIVE pedals ! :D
