Did the 66 C10 come with clear lenses in front for the turn signals? I like that look better than amber lenses. I would like to install seatbelt/shoulder harnesses. Can the shoulder harness part (above your left shoulder) be mounted to the inside wall of the cab with some kind of backing plate? Thanks for any info.

as far as i know they came with the amber lenses. I have a 66 c10 and thats what it has on it. You may want to search some of the threads on here and "inliners.org", "chevytalk.org" i have seen a thread where someone did mount the seatbelts like that.

I ran out and gave a look see @ mine Yup amber. But its your truck make it the way you want unless your sticking stock. Thats the beauty of it, there are no real rules ( oh wait better check to see what johnny law says) as long as its safe. My opinion is if you can get to it Id reinforce,at least a fender washer or more than just sheet metal. it could save your life someday. find the smallest child to reach up in there. Kilroy was here!!!!

The clear and amber lenses are interchangeable. To keep it 66 legal just run amber bulbs behind the clear lenses. I think 1963 was the first year amber turn signals were required by federal law. Different manufacturers used each approach, amber bulb/clear lens, or amber lens.

Juliano's sells the 3 point harness. I've seen 3 point harnesses installed in the 60-66 series trucks. It can be done, I'd just use the biggest backing plate I could fit in the space. Like under the floor, for seat belt mounts I used U-Bolt mounting plates (1/4" thick) under the truck for reinforcement. In a wreck it's much better to bend and mangle the sheet metal with a heavy backer, rather than tear the bolt out of through thin sheet steel.

Thanks alot for the info. I like the classic look of the clear turn signal lense, just wasn't sure if it would "fit" the period if the truck didn't come with them. But as you said Hotrodkilroy, there are no real rules. From the shoulder harness info you guys gave, sounds like I'm on the right track. My plan was to put a substantial backing plate behind the inner wall. I'm thinking the floor mounts where the factory lap belts are mounted are beefed up already. Thanks again, will let you know how it comes out.
