Hi folks: I just installed an old signal stat 900 turn signal in my 52 Chevy. Works great, but one oddity - I wired the turn signal to the ignition switch and when turned on, the pilot light in the turn signal lights up. It's red when the turn signal is in the center, off position and green when the lever is either in the left or right turn signal position. Is this normal for the pilot light to be on all of the time? Thanks.

I'm not sure, but that's a great way to know you're not driving down the road with a blinker going!

    No , it's not .

It does this because the mast jacket isn't grounded so the switch is trying to ground via the pilot lamp .

It'll blink whenever you use the winkers but remain lit .

To change , simply add a ground wire up to the switch's housing (easy as it's chrome .

Or , leave it be as it's no hassle and I personally love both chrome things and lights......

    That's how my '49 works .
