OK you V8 guys I will apologize now since you have to read about a 235. My daily driver stock 3100 Apache (59) is sporting a three speed. I would like to remove the engine and have it rebuilt (either myself and son or deliver to shop). In the mean time, I have a chance to install a 250 (chevy of course) and a two speed power glide tramsmission. My question is in the transmision Suitable for the weight of this truck? Some say nothing over 3000 lbs. But these trans were in alot of heavy cars, my truck never really hauls a load, except my fat a$$. The 250 engine and 2 speed power glide transmission is 1966 model. :+

Thanks in edvance, keep the old iron on the Nations Highways Steve

RE: Two Speed Power Glide Transmiss

OK, Here's what I found out myself.

Chevy offered two automatic transmission for 1967 trucks. The Chevy Power Glide and the GM's Turbo Hydramatic.
