Just got through replacing my front & back u- joints on my 1966 c-10 shortbed fleetside first time that Ive replaced them on my driveshaft they started to get really noisy going into gear, probably been in their for a long time.No clinging anymore now.
Hey Morton, good thing you changed them before they broke! How's progress on Matts truck? I got a new tailgate for my 4x4. Looks real good. Finally sold my truck to a soldier from Fort Polk. Gave him a good deal since he defends our country!! Talk to ya later, Jeremy
62 stepside (Jermey) I did get my mileage out of them u-joints, one thing about these chevys 60 to 66 models they are alot like the energeiser bunny they keep going and going & going... Matthews truck is coming along slowly we just got him a different sterring wheel & valve covers that are shinny crome for his 16th Birthday on the 23rd of July, slowly we will get his truck on the road it will have the 283 motor I bought off You in march, overhauled to new it will be osem after we get it done.Jermey it was so nice to hear that you sold 62 stepside. The guys that keep our country safe day in day out our true HERIOS in my eyes, so much wrong stuff going on right now, they desirve more respect then they get sometimes guess I will go for now take care friend.
I did mine when I changed to a 700R4. I also changed the carrier bearing and had the whole drive shaft balanced. What a huge diffrence. Good luck on the resto. Brian
