I have a 71 3/4 ton 4x4. Was replacng the ball joints and noticed the u joint on the front axle was shot. it has no snap rings to remove. instead there are these metal caps that look as though they have been pressed in. i used my ball joint press to try to press them out and was only able to budge them a fraction of an inch (was using an impact wrench and it wouldn't turn any more). Is there a special tool I need to use here? How do I go about getting these out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
