Here is an update of my rusty 48. The body is mounted on a 91 S-10 extended cab frame. This truck was originally a 3/4 ton flatbed. I am keeping the flatbed. Here is the way the truck sits now. Wheels are 20" Centerlines. Here are my crazy assed headers. Building these things was a royal pain in the ass! The brake booster complicated things. The rear tube couldn't go up and over due to the column and the booster..........so it goes DOWN and makes a full loop before joining up with the other tubes! I am not 100% on running the seats out of the jaguar xjs donor. We recycled the original column and wheel. Not 100% sure what is going to happen with the dash either. S-10 pedal assy has been cleaned up, trans tunnel started, floors started I'm proud of my column drop. Pedal assembly welds will get finished when it comes time to paint. From the driver seat, you cant see the bracket that holds the pedal. Dad's dog checkin' stuff out. Do all AD hoods stand up like this?
That pretty kool start. The plan coming along good. Keep up the pic's on the job. I like to see how you do the flat bed set up pic's pic's
I'm using an 85 ext cab S-10 and my wheel base is 122 inches. I need 118 inches. Did you have the same problem and what did you do to remedy the situation? I really do like the way the cab sits on the frame. It looks great.
Looks good Keep posting photos as you go. Steering looks neat Not quite sure of the headers But ha if they work they work
Since mine is a flatbed, I really didn't have to line up with a fender opening. I'm leaving it a 122". I think the bed will get shortened a tad anyways (cut out some damage)
Hey Flipper GREAT JOB, I think. My computer at the office blocks most stuff, so I couldn't see any of the pictures. So when i got home last night and powered up the computer anxiously awaiting your pics only to find out that my ISP was down! So, i'm behind as usual, but from hearing the other guys talk, i'm looking forward to seeing the pics!
I don't think I'll see another set just like 'em. I'd hate to be paying by the hour for somebody to try and recreate them. I just wish I had practiced gas welding before I started these. Some of the welds aren't real pretty. I had plenty of cheap mandrel bends to play with. A while back, I bought a whole big pile of sprint car headers off of ebay for $50. About half were 1 7/8 and half were 2". Also included were a pair of 3.5" flowmasters!!!!
fliiper, how much were the wheels a piece, and did you just order them from centerline, or a wheel dealer? Thanks ________ Xs850
About a year and a half ago, centerline ran some magazine ads for their RF SERIES wheels starting at $500 a set. They were sold direct from centerline. I think this really pissed off their existing dealers really bad. The RF SERIES doesn't exist anymore from what I can tell. The same wheel that I bought appears to still be available though. Last time I checked, the price was way higher. http://www.centerlinewheels.com/wheel_deals_detail.php?id=12268&type=bolt&data=5-4.75
i might order these, they are on sale right now for 159 a piece. i dont see a difference in them http://www.centerlinewheels.com/wheel_deals_detail.php?id=12463&type=bolt&data=5-4.5 ________ Honda Civic Si
Holy crap! Looks like Hedmen Headers Heaven! And i thought "I" was creative! I've seen your truck on another site before. Refresh my memory!
