My truck: '55.1 with '47-'53 front sheet metal.

As you all may know, I am upgrading to disc brakes in the front using the Speedway kit and converting my closed driveline 4-speed to an open driveline 4-speed by changing out the back end of the tranny and putting a 3.08:1 '73 Nova rear end in it.

Actually, I'm pretty excited about these changes. It will make the truck much more driveable and I won't be sweating bullets when the boys take it out anymore.

The new bolt pattern for the front and rear is 5 by 4.75".

Anybody know the right 16 inch wheel that will clear the calipers and stock type tie rod ends in front and work well in the rear with regard to the bedsides? I really want to use 16" wheels because I am mostly broke and the rubber on the truck is in great shape. New rubber is just not an option with the holidays coming up. It took me a LONG time to save up for these parts. A little help on the wheel issue please???

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Andy,
Maaaaybe a Camaro (Gen 4 93-02) spare? As I recall, they ran a steel spare- a 16x7.5... just a thought. A quick web search confirmed this. Whether or not they are what you want to run is another question. Tough call... 5x4.75 is "old school" (as in the 14 and 15 inch days), and a 16 inch steelie in that size doesn't jump out at me. I'll see if anything else come to mind.

Try Dexstar wheels. I bought my 16's from a dealer here in the Houston area. Their website shows a few different styles, mostly trailer wheels, but I got mine and they look like 'originals' pretty much. http://www.dexstarwheel.com/products.html Click on 'Product Brochure.'
