I see that the vent pivot rivets sold by the host do not apply to 1960-63. Before I make a mess of things, I wanted to ask if anyone has remove the vent window from the frame to replace the seal. Also, do I just cut the head of the rivet that is exposed through the vent window frame ? I would appreciate any advice.Thank you for your help
"Alan's Classic" Vent Window Rebuild Thread Here's a link to a detailed rebuild thread. It's for the 64-66 vent wing but it should help answer some of your questions: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=351471
1961 vent pivot rivet Thank you very much for the link. Now I see the difference between the design of the 1960-63 and the 64-66. The upper pivot on mine is a pin that attaches to the glass frame and goes straight up through the vent assembly frame. The 64-66 has an actual rivet attaching to tabs together. I can't figure out how to get the vent window out of the frame/division channel. It appears the frame enclosing the vent is riveted to the division channel. Unfortunately, I don't have to computer know how to post a picture. Thank you for the help.
1961 vent pivot rivet I got it apart. At the top of the vent frame where it attaches to the division post, there is one small screw that I found earlier. There is one rivet and that screw that needs to be removed. Then I was able to lift up the frame enough to get the pin attached to the vent window frame out.
