Ok I was able to remove the driver vent window with little trouble. The passenger window "division channel lower attachment bolt is kicking my butt. As I attempt to loosen the bolt the entire channel turns, so little torque on the bolt. Any creative ideas?
That's pretty common. You can fit a crescent wrench or small vice grips inside the door & tighten it up on the channel to prevent the channel from twisting when you crank on the lower mounting bolt.
thanks I was thinking about getting another tool in there. I face two dilemmas, one my arms are short and think. I may try going from the top access with the crescent and then the bottom with the ratchet. I douched it with penetrating fluid yesterday. Thanks!
Tools Some of my favorite tools are thin Crescent Wrenches I found used in Pawn/Thrift Shops , never Chinese , occasionally Japanese or German , they're very helpful in situations like you have now . I also have some really old thin open end wrenches I use for the same purpose : holding recessed or limited access things .
I have a set of open end wrenches made for Teletype Corporation back in the 40s thru 60s that are REALLY thin. They vary from 5/16" to 3/4". The 3/4" is only about 1/8" thick. I don't use them often, but when I need them they are about the only thing that will work.
