I need to find a replacement hood and trunk lid for a four door 1950 (dare I say it??) shoebox Ford. Repop would be OK as would original sheet metal in reasonably good shape. This is a charity project.

If you have any leads please let me know.

Tried Mac's. No big sheet metal parts there, just patch panels.

I'll see if I can find "Moss" in Pomona.

Russ, I checked his website and he is like Mac, Obsolete Parts, etc. Everything for the hood and trunk, except for the hood and trunk. I guess them Ferd peeps are not as proud of their vintage tin as we are!

That is kinda funny.....most people buy the 4 doors cheap to use parts to fix 2 doors. You might be able to find another 4 door cheap to find these and other parts, then sell what you don't use. Try posting on the HAMB (after an intro...they are really anal about that) or on Ol Skool Rodz forum.

Russ & Ken: I found hoods and trunk lids on Dennis Carpenter's site under "NOS parts". No years indicated, just 4rd part numbers & prices. I'll call in the next couple of days and see what he has. Thanks for the help.

Bill, I think I have one down at my storage yard that would serve to protect the engine from the weather and not much more. If it EVER quits raining I'll check for sure. It is a fifty that has had the arch for the grill belly button filled so it would work on a fifty one. It's also been nosed and the "craftsman" didn't know that heat causes warping. Like I say, it's only good for keeping the elements off an engine but it's yours for the asking.

    Thanks Evan.

The hood (and trunk lid) is needed for a "pro bono" job my son-in-law's shop is doing on a competition BBQ pit that the Conroe Police Department is building. There is a hood there now, but it is in really poor shape. The final results don't need to be "Evan quality", but he figures it would take a lot of man hours to get the existing hood even good enough for the intended use.
