Well this weekend is the 49th annual March Meets (Nostalgia drag racing) at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California (well actually not in Bakersfield, its alittle north). The weather was beautiful, not too hot. The racing was spectacular. But what I enjoyed most was spending the time with my son. He asked all kinds of questions. What's that, how does that work, Dad, look at that car, and so on. He even took these photos that I'm sharing with you. I hope you don't mind. These trucks have all been modified, there wasn't a single original one out there.

    Well, enjoy!

    Some more

Here are a couple more. My personal favorite is the motorhome.

Thanks for the pics Big Mike! A GMC... red with white into yellow flames... Seems like I tried telling a few on here how cool that would look. The motor home is something I've thought about too. It's nice to see what they'd look like. You're lucky to live in an area where you don't have to drive forever to see a show like that. To be able to do it with your son- priceless!

    I'm with you!

That's an awesome looking ride. Kinda reminds me of Zig's truck on steroids:D

    Keeping young

Thanks for sharing the pics Mike. Up here in the Pacific NW, there a LOT
of logging trucks running around. Just down the street a mechanic friend of mine has turned one into a dragster. Is a turbo deisel Peterbuilt (I think) wiith slicks and a cool orange aluminum fairing in back of the cab. It hauls!!
If I showed up with that flamed COE, man, his jaw would drop to the floor. Whenever I hang out with kids, I get a whole new perspective on the world. They keep me young and I find I remember more of my childhood too. Keep up the good work.:)
